HOW YOU CAN HELP

The Amazon rainforest and its Indigenous stewards are at a crossroads, and your support can make a profound difference. By contributing to Plant A Vine, you become part of a global movement to restore the sacred Ayahuasca vine, empower the Yawanawá tribe, and preserve one of the world’s richest cultural and ecological treasures.

1. Plant a Vine for Every Ceremony

For those who have experienced the transformative power of Ayahuasca, this is a chance to give back. Honor the wisdom you’ve received by planting a vine for every ceremony you’ve attended, ensuring that future generations can walk this path.

Why It Matters:

  • Restoring Balance: Each vine planted helps replenish Ayahuasca populations depleted by decades of overharvesting.

  • Sustaining Sacred Traditions: Your support directly strengthens Yawanawá ceremonies and the passing of ancestral knowledge.

  • A Legacy of Reciprocity: By giving back to the land and the people who have safeguarded this medicine, you help preserve its wisdom for generations to come.

How to Get Involved:

For just $30, you can sponsor the planting of a vine. Imagine the impact if every person who has ever sat with Ayahuasca gave back in this way—together, we could ensure its future for all who seek its guidance.

2. Support Replanting Efforts

Help restore entire villages with Ayahuasca vines and Chakruna plants. Our goal is to replant two Yawanawá villages each year, with 500 Ayahuasca vines and 300 Chakruna plants in each.

Your Contribution Covers:

  • Seeds and Plants: Ensuring the highest-quality stock for sustainable growth.

  • Cultivation Materials: Tools, soil enrichment, and other essentials.

  • Community Labor: Fair compensation for the Yawanawá and partner communities involved in planting.

Impact:

  • A $12,500 donation restores one village, revitalizing sacred ecosystems and providing resources for ceremonies for generations to come.

  • Over the next seven years, we aim to restore all 14 Yawanawá villages with your help.

3. Fund the Escola do Feitio

Preserving Tradition, Honoring the Future

The Escola do Feitio (School of Medicine Making) is a cornerstone of the Yawanawá’s cultural resurgence. This annual program ensures that the sacred knowledge of preparing their medicine is passed down to the next generations while adapting to the realities of modern times.

Why It Matters:

  • Elder-Led Teaching: Ensures that the wisdom of medicine-making is preserved by providing a space for elders to teach younger generations.

  • Sustaining Sacred Practices: Revives and strengthens the Yawanawá’s traditional methods while incorporating modern adaptations to meet growing demand.

  • Strengthening Community Resilience: Empowers the Yawanawá to reclaim, refine, and sustain their ancestral skills in medicine-making.

  • Modernizing with Integrity: Supports the integration of practical improvements—such as structured facilities, hygiene practices, and increased production capacity—while maintaining the depth and spiritual integrity of the work.

Annual Funding Needs:

A total of $15,000 is required to fund a full Escola do Feitio session, covering:

  • Materials & Ingredients for preparing the medicine

  • Elder Stipends to compensate knowledge-keepers for their time and teachings

  • Facility & Infrastructure Support to improve and maintain the Feitio House, ensuring a safe, efficient, and sustainable space for medicine-making

By supporting the Escola do Feitio, you are ensuring that this sacred tradition not only survives but thrives for future generations.

4. Complete the Feitio House

Support the final upgrades to the Feitio House—the heart of sustainable and high-quality medicine preparation in Mutum. This space is essential for preserving the Yawanawá’s sacred traditions while meeting the practical needs of medicine-making today.

What’s Needed:

  • Hygienic Flooring: Durable, easy-to-clean materials that enhance cleanliness and safety.

  • Sanitation: A simple toilet and shower near the cooking area for improved hygiene and functionality.

  • Clean Water Supply: Direct access to running water to streamline and improve the medicine preparation process.

  • Solar Power Installation: Providing reliable lighting for long evenings of medicine-making and ceremonies.

Why It Matters:

These upgrades ensure that the Feitio House remains a functional, clean, and sacred space for the Yawanawá to prepare their medicine, host Escola do Feitio trainings, and strengthen their self-sufficiency.

Funding Goal:

We need $15,000 to complete these essential improvements.

Your support directly contributes to creating a space where tradition, sustainability, and high-quality medicine preparation can thrive for generations to come.

5. Spread the Word
Amplify the Mission

Not everyone can contribute financially, but everyone can play a role in restoring the Ayahuasca vine and supporting Indigenous wisdom. By sharing this mission, you help inspire a larger movement of reciprocity and restoration.

Ways to Get Involved:

  • Social Media: Share Plant A Vine with your community to raise awareness and spark conversations.

  • Personal Outreach: Send a message to friends, family, or networks who may feel called to support.

  • Host a Gathering: Organize a small event to share the story of Plant A Vine and the importance of preserving the Amazon and its cultural heritage.

Why It Matters:

Every share, conversation, and connection creates a ripple effect, bringing more people into the circle of stewardship and reciprocity. Together, we can restore what has been lost and ensure the future of these sacred traditions.

Where Your Contributions Go

We value transparency and want you to know exactly how your support is making an impact:

  • Replanting Efforts: $12,500 per village to restore Ayahuasca vine populations and regenerate Indigenous territories.

  • Escola do Feitio: $15,000 annually to fund the continuation of medicine-making traditions and intergenerational knowledge-sharing.

  • Feitio House Completion: $15,000 to finalize essential upgrades, ensuring a dedicated, clean, and functional space for sustainable medicine preparation.
